You will learn how I go about to ramp up my portfolio, using different thinking styles and method. I will share my learnt lesson here - also staying humble!

Why I redesign my portfolio?

It was just one day when my intern came and said “Hey, Germaine! Look at my portfolio website”. I took a look and was impressed — because my portfolio was more of my playground than a professional portfolio.

So I just decided. OK. Time to rebuild my portfolio.

OK so wait - Germaine, how does your old website actually looked like?

What do I want to improve?

Area to Improve Why It Matters My Goal My Methods
Website UI & Navigation First impressions matter — users should feel guided, not lost A site that feels intuitive and smooth to explore Learn from Gen AI prompts, UX case studies, YouTube breakdowns, teardown reviews
About Me / Bio People should get me at a glance — my vibe, vision, and value Visitors instantly understand who I am and what I do Analyze good bios, run portfolio interviews, iterate with mentor feedback
Showcase of My Work My build energy should shine through, loud and clear Clear signals: “She builds, ships, and thinks in systems” Draft in Notion, build MVP sections, start shipping & updating live

How do I go about designing my portfolio?

  1. I have my intern as an achor — basically she and I will make our own personal portfolio. So that I can teach her (hands-on) how I approach on doing things!
  2. Research various tech lead’s portfolio → developer-portfolios
  3. I conjured a plan and questions 🪄
    1. 🌻 Learning lessons: Everything starts with ? a question
